Getting down to the business end of things

We went round to the dumpout palace pumpout palace for the last time today, (well here, that is). It was a very sloppy soppy affair in all the wind & rain…

People say things happen in threes, I mean in the last few days the toilet still won’t flush proper, that tap’s still dripping & the shower needs a new spray thingy…

Today however, before we set off in 20mph gusts, Dave banged his head on the hatch cover while carrying a handful of stuff up the stairs, & totally misjudged it. Then he went to undo the bow ropes & nearly fell in, it was a close thing, slip, flip, & there he was, one foot on the very edge of the jetty dangerously teetering away. (You’ve been framed moment). The drama only lasted a couple of seconds, but time seemed to stand still – as did Dave. Even so, the “things in threes thing” never entered my head till we set off, & THEN we remembered the electricity cable was still plugged in to the shore, ooops. Nearly brought the pier with us…

Anyway, since then I’ve been busy packing up me knick knacks, & believe me, even though I’m into the “minimalist look,” there’s lots of them:

There’s these…

002

And these…

003

And these tiny shells, imagine them falling in your knicker drawer, or anywhere else for that matter…

005

Then there’s this…

006

And this…

007

And these from the luxury conserveratory…

010

And these…

012

So all this lot (& more) is now mothballed bubble wrapped & sat in 3 boxes…

And this here will have to be laid flat on the floor on the day…

001

Well look at that, the stock market’s on the up – must be an optical illusion…

So with one day left, what should I do tomorrow? Spend a day of quiet contemplation, or alternatively, spend the day boat cleansing? I’m desperately trying to refrain from the latter, but it’s polish & glow touch & go…
