This morning, & wondered if it was at all possible, did I need water wings so I could do the hydro-therapy thing? But I was determined, so it had to happen however painful. And it was. Getting dressed afterwards was a nightmare – or a comedy whichever way… However there has been a significant improvement since so it was worth it, at least I can walk upright now instead of resembling a wobbly neanderthal…
Dave managed to do a whip round today, while I did anything that could be done while sat down, which wasn’t very much but never mind. Picking feathers out of a duck down pillow was about the highlight of the day. No,, I wasn’t doing that for fun, it hasn’t been used for a while & has sprouted heathers feathers since…
Turned out there wasn’t that much to do anyway because of the mess we had to clean up when we got here at Mercia. At the time it was an intensive clean up job because of all the broken glass. The good news is that it meant there was just a bit of hoovering for us Dave to do today. So bob’s yer uncle, we’re ready for Liam arriving on the car park sometime EARLY tomorrow morning…
Note: The word EARLY is in caps because we don’t normally do mornings – but he’s an exception to the rule…
Meantime, tonight we’re left wondering if his channel crossing will actually happen because of the weather. His wife Maddy & baby Ryan are arriving by plane on the 23rd. So we’ve booked them all into a hotel in Derby with a family room for a couple of days & then we’ll all go “up north” to my parents on Christmas day. That’s when it’s our turn to stay in a hotel, blimey it’s complicated – but worth it…!
I took some photos yesterday aft of our mooring at Mercia Marina, something we’ve noticed is that there’s a fair number of double moorings taken up by just one narrowboat - all over the marina…
So believe it or not there’s a narrowboat on either side of us – but with an empty mooring between on each side. Which means the sun streams through the windows, even in winter…
Very nice even if it’s bl**dy freezing outside…
Or it could be that they were all alerted to the fact that we were on our way round, & shuffled about a bit before we got there…
This is the gap that we get away with, anywhere, anyway…
View ahead of us…
Yep, think I like it here…
Back to the Christmas theme, stats & facts [on our travels] so far:
- Christmas cards – CHECK, except for 2 who’ve moved, that’s the people not the cards….
- Wrapping presents – CHECK, fully covered (excuse pun), got those fancy bag thingy’s to just plonk stuff in…
- No of presents just realised forgot: 1…
Ah well, it’ll all wrap up come together in the end as they say…

Looks like your conservatory changes colour depending on where you view it from!
Trust you to notice, tomorrow I've set it to cycle through every shade of red as the day goes on. A bit like Christmas lights..
Really it's all about sun, angles, & exposure, but I know you know that lol

PS: 24 hours later she thinks of the words "light refraction." Good eh???
