Canal Related Broken News: I recently received a reply to an email I sent last year to my (then) local MP. Can’t remember exactly what I wrote to “Dear Loraine” now, except that it was all about canal boaters concerns for the future of the system. Plus a few questions I threw in there, which haven’t been answered. To be honest, I’d even forgotten about it due to lack of conviction, (a fob off) which turned out to be correct, read on…
Page 2 – for what it’s worth…
So having read this reply thar’s nowt new then, it even refers to the big hullabaloo of October 2010 for goodness sake. Then there’s sums that don’t add up, they’re reliant on funding that has no guarantees, & they still haven’t got a Business Plan. Marvellous…
Even more important, I’m still trying to work out if that signature’s written with real ink, or if it’s a nice blue photocopy. And note how it’s taken 2 months to reply…
So it’s all standard blurb with a patronising tone & nothing we don’t already know, which doesn’t inspire confidence. No doubt those of us who wrote to our local MP’s all got the same response, if at all…
PS: “Dear Loraine” won’t be my local MP now, well never mind, I won’t be in tears over it…
PPS: I’ve just realised I’ll have to stop occasionally slipping into writing with a Lancasheer accent on’t blog. I mean now we’re based at “Canal Central” an’ all that, init…?
