Something to make you go ahh

In these days of a troubled financial weather climate, Dave took some photos the other night, while thick clouds ruled the skies all day, makes you think it might be summer eh…?

A sunset out of the gloom…

Meanwhile today: Amidst heavy thunder & lighting here at the mo. It’s one of those where the thunder goes on for ages, but there’s no lightening in sight. And you can feel the pressure in your head – takes a lot for me that. Too laid back to get pressurised eezy…

Right, that’s enough of the weather, in general it’s too dismal. But having thought about it so was today – in terms of going out to buy a new TV & set top box. TV’s might be wafer thin these days, but they’re weighted down with a “footprint stand” that’s very appropriate for a canal boat – in that the darn thing’s so big it won’t move. So will a TV that size, with all the bells & whistles fit on your shelf when you’re looking for a 32 inch jobby…?

We’d measured everything else up except “the footprint,” so we came back with nothing more than a birthday card for someone. Bought from somewhere much more boring than the tech zone known as COMET…

As you can imagine, first thing we did was to measure up “the footprint” turns out it’s ok, it’ll fit. And all that assing about & getting nowhere in particular because we hadn’t measured up a flippin’ shelf. Didn’t think we’d have to…

Tip of the day: So when you’re looking at dimensions – make sure you’ve got all bases covered…

Right, that’s it, I’m off to look up flight details on Expedia, our son’s got his leave dates through before he goes on his next Army tour of duty, & he’s based in Germany…

Smiles all round then, we deal with with the rest as loving parents…
