How frustrating is this?

So the weather bucks up after what seems like years of rain, & we’re both sat here like a couple of lemons in a sauna. It has to be a sauna because the beads of sweat (badness coming out) have to remain warm to the skin, else hypothermia might set in too…

Sitting near any draughts aren’t a good idea either, {Cough Sneeze Wheeze}. Everyone else has front doors, back doors, side hatch & various sections of lux cons open, up, down, sideways, whatever. But not on this boat, out back here we’ve got just one section up away from the gentle breeze. That’s so we can both wheeze actually breathe at all, & while we cook the steam rises…

So TT’s in “lock down” mode, a bit like London really, except people aren’t queuing to get in. It’s the luminous orange traffic cones on the jetty with “UNCLEAN” written on them that give the situation away. After all, people have to be protected…

And talking of UNCLEAN, the BIGGEST IRK of all is that we’ve got a very long “To Do” list we should’ve continued with yesterday, & tomorrow, & the day after, you get the jist…

Starting & finishing (not the idea) with Saturday:

  • I changed the bedding, which due to profuse “illness sweating” since, will now need doing again. ONGOING.
  • Dave treated the inside of the lux con roof & sides. DONE.

Still to do (Dave):

  • Treat outside of lux con roof & sides.
  • Wax wash the paintwork (whole boat).
  • Clean the Squirrel, & polish mushrooms.

Still to do (Me):

  • Wash the rest of the curtains I left out last time.
  • Clean lux con inside, paintwork, woodwork, etc.
  • Clean Bedroom, dusting & hoovering.
  • Wave magic wand over the Bathroom like in the Flash Bathroom spray advert.
  • Wave magic wand over the Kitchen like in the Flash Kitchen spray advert, (include cooker).
  • Clean Saloon, dusting & hoovering.
  • Clean all wood flooring.
  • Clean all windows inside & out.

I’m sure I’ve missed something……………….

As you’ve probably noticed, my list is far more extensive than Dave’s, which at first glance reflects righteously on myself. But to be fair, Dave’s jobs take a lot longer, require more elbow grease, & some even include a slight risk factor. So fair enough, credit where it’s due & all that…

Oh well “It’ll all turn out in the wash” as they say… So what wash is that then? It’s just not happening…

And then there’s that flippin bow thruster to get sorted……….

Why are we in such a rush? Well we want everything done before next week when my mom & pops come to visit. Then we’ve got 5 days to concentrate on getting ready to go to Germany, beyond then the boat can sink & it doesn’t matter…

However, before any of that we both have to get beyond the point of “possible human spontaneous combustion” occurring first. Now there’s a mouthful…

So, seeing as I’ve got nothing better to do except talk myself out of turning into a hypochondriac, here’s a conundrum:

What do you think this thing is on my thumb…? Thumbs down

001

Thumbs up if you get it right…

"Clean the Squirrel, & polish mushrooms."

I'm sure civilians will suspect you've been on the wrong sort of mushrooms....

Hi Ray,

He He, believe me them there "other" mushrooms wouldn't go down well with this cough medicine. (Not that I'd know of course).
In fact nothing goes down well with this cough medicine..
So let's make amends for the civilians out there:

Ahem, the squirrel is a multifuel stove & the mushrooms are some vent thingys in / on the roof. Good eh?

[Still sounds like "other" mushrooms are involved here somewhere]

PS: The white wine experiment carried out yesterday was swiftly abandoned because it didn't work..

Look, you may have 5 days of good weather, you have 5 days before you go to Germany so, sod the work, go boating for 4 days and 1 day to pack. The work will still be there when you come back, the weather may not.

Hi DC,

Nice idea, we haven't had much chance to think "outside the box" (?) yet. Haven't even been able to think inside it either!

Oh hang on a mo, just been racking whats left of my brain. We should get the results of the bow thruster solenoid autopsy tomorrow or Wednesday, new parts will be ordered & it'll probably be sometime just before we go to Germany when it gets fitted. So we'll have to be here -- then again it'll need a test drive won't it???? He He,
